Rachel and I watched "Let the Right One In" last night, a Swedish movie about a nerdy 12 year old boy that falls in love with a 12 year old girl vampire. While it sounds like a pre-teen version of Twilight, I'm willing to bet there were more decapitations in this one (although I haven't seen Twilight). Basically, the movie relies on cinematography and mood instead of special effects to make for a creepy movie, which is refreshing in today's lackluster horror genre. The majority of the violence also takes place slightly off-screen, letting the viewer's imagination fill in the blanks, which, in my case, probably made the whole thing that much scarier. I recommend it.
