an amazing weekend
Rachel and I had a busy but fulfilling four day weekend. Friday night we decided to stay in and work on a craft project we have been wanting to do, silhouettes of ourselves. We took side profile photos and then used those to do computer illustrated silhouettes, which we think turned out well. We have also been wanting a plastic owl decoy that we saw at the hardware store awhile back, so we decided to pick him up to decorate the house. We decided to paint the owl, though, to give it some more style and decided on this pale yellow w/ a slight green tint. To unify things, we also painted one of Rachel's old deer statues the same color.
In addition, we entertained at our house on Saturday and Sunday night, which was an excuse to make some good food, including chili and hummus on Saturday and a fantastic apple and gorgonzola risotto on Sunday night when an old friend came over for dinner.
Best of all, I got to spend the entire weekend with Rachel!

happy birthday marvin and tuesday
On Wednesday, April 1st, our cats Marvin and Tuesday turned ten years old! We decided that they needed a nice window perch so they could watch the birds and soak up some rays, but the ones you can buy at the pet store are kinda lame. Therefore, we made them this beauty that Marvin is enjoying in the photo, Happy Birthday guys!
